Well known in the Washington area, Carrita Smith brings a fresh and vibrant palette to her most recent works. Working with oils and watercolors, she interprets light and shadow through a contemporary post-impressionistic style. "I try to put my feelings into each painting. I want to give the viewer a sense of how I felt when I experienced the scene," she states. All become vignettes to communicate a sense of place.
 
            Having studied at the Corcoran School of Art, Smith received her Master of Arts Degree from American University. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and her works are included in many private and corporate collections including AT&T, Gannett News Service and numerous law firms.
