An American impressionist, Vance Brand uses subtle gestures in his oil and pastel paintings. Evocative of places and things most familiar to him, he produces landscapes that reveal an intimate knowledge of colors to tell his story, places and things. Having grown up in the mid-west, he celebrates the richness of simple, rural America. ~ His works have been exhibited at the Springfield Art Museum in Ohio, the Fort Wayne Museum in Indiana and others. An award-winning artist, he has been recognized for his pastels by induction into the Pastel Society of America.

Karen Swenholt is a figurative sculptor who works in the Washington DC area. Her education includes more than 20 years, studying the figure at various schools. She attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1975, the Maryland Institute and studio schools. Vibrant with a contemporary edge, the rough, painterly surface of her sculptures contrasts with their grace. She is particularly effective in depicting the human face along with gesture to convey emotion and movement. ~ She is a member of the National Sculpture Society and the Washington Sculptor Group. Her work can be found in many public and private collections.
