          From Nashville, Nathaniel Mather paints about complex ideas and life’s choices in a raw, simplistic style. His work has been described as a colorful contemporary medium with a naïve, thought provoking and whimsical expression for over 20 years. His paintings are a combination of acrylics and mixed media. He enjoys creating art for a passion that tells a story, most of which come from his relationships: family, friends and faith. Nathaniel’s images reflect his joy and ability to illustrated emotions and concepts: painterly, mixed media paintings composed with a graphic flavor.
 
          Mather graduated at the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, 1973 and at the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, 1978. He has exhibited from Washington DC to Los Angeles and his work is in private and corporate collections: Marriott Corporation, Los Angeles; Liberty Records, Nashville; Coleman Design, Inc., Sidney Australia; Faye Dunaway, Actress, Los Angeles; Carl Vance, Director of Santa Barbara Art Museum, California, Neiman Marcus, Johns Hopkins Magazine, Brown University, Spiegels, Warner Bros./Reprise and many others.
