Ronni Jolles imagines so many ideas for her collages: her inspiration in a beautiful hillside village, a clothesline hanging, a children's dance class or sunflowers in a field. Her pieces - some realistic, others more abstract - creates with Egyptian papyrus, Thai rice-and-straw, Japanese sugikawashi, Indian jute, Mexican bark. Ronni collects different kinds of paper from all over the world! Paper is an amazing material and is highly respected in other cultures as a thing of beauty. She attaches varied papers in layered effects to a stretched canvas. The papers become the art and the visual effect is distinctive and sculptural.
 
            Ronni has experience with artistic training in the Corcoran School of Art, Washington, DC; Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Cornell University. She has been an art educator at The Flint Hill School, Oakton, VA and has exhibited extensively in the greater Washington area.
