Plein air landscapes and buildings are the inspiration for Vermont painter, JAMES URBASKA. The paintings are brighter, colorful and more sincere; these new pieces are reminiscent of outdoor painting days. Urbaska has chosen to work with oil on linen; his creative images interpret the land with a palette creating atmospheric and spontaneity visions. His oils are beautifully composed with conversations between light and his paintings glow from within, containing their own light.
Born in Montana, Urbaska graduated from Wabash College and studied at Montana State University and Vermont Studio Center. After graduation, he apprenticed with a few select professional artists and developed a personal reflective style of oil painting. His work has exhibited nationally in galleries and museums: Shelburne and Brattleboro Museums in Vermont and Yellowstone Art Museum in Montana.
Foxhall Gallery is pleased to present James Urbaska's solo exhibition in the nation's capital.
