Margaret Huddy's watercolors are filled with light and marked by luminous surfaces and magnificent structures or objects of nature. Relating to the impressionist painters, she is moved and inspired by daylight. Focusing on architectural landmarks, her paintings depict monuments and centers of governments. In her poetic transcription of appearances, Huddy invites us to contemplate light as a compelling metaphor for life's meaning and beauty.
Her work has been shown in numerous museums and art spaces throughout the country including the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio. Huddy's watercolors have also been featured in several publications.
Raka Bose Saha's paintings are very personal reactions; they are visual expressions. Art must show a certain beauty and the essence is the idea; the color and compositions are abstract. Details in favor of imagined patterns and color are the two most important elements; the vehicle of the idea is the form. Saha's landscapes have a powerful quality, giving expressive force to the flow of hills, valleys, rocks and trees.
Her paintings are in private collections in California, Georgia, New York and various states as well as overseas: England, India and Italy. Publications for Saha's honors and awards: St. Louis Artists' Guild Centennial and The Editors Choice.
Foxhall Gallery represents our talented artists: Margaret Huddy and Raka Bose Saha.
