John Olsen's fantasy fowl steel sculptures have
long been a delightful favorite at Foxhall Gallery. Using exuberant sculpture design, he uses color and form to bring joy to
the viewer. Each sculpture is a one of a kind original and he can design to your space specifications. From the garden to the
atrium, from poolside to indoor space, Olsen's sculptures move freely from the outdoors to interior living. Using found steel
objects such as rebar, tools and machine parts, he reshapes them into a fine art expression of both beauty and whimsy. He
states, "Birds have fascinated and entertained throughout the ages. Although I have made over a thousand bird sculptures,
each one has been unique, fun to create and a joy to share."
His work has been featured in Southwest Art, Art News and Museum and Arts magazines in
addition to numerous newspaper articles. Exhibits have included the Palm Springs Desert Museum; Hunter Museum, Chattanooga,
Tennessee, and many private galleries throughout the United States. He has received many awards including Best of Scottsdale,
Scottsdale Center of the Arts, Arizona. Public and private collections boast of his work including St. Paul Chamber Orchestra,
Minnesota; and Southern Bell Telephone.
